On July 29, Maran Tankers Management Inc. marked a significant milestone with the launch ceremony of its new crude oil tanker. The vessel, featuring LNG dual-fuel technology and a capacity of 155,500 dwt, is currently under construction at the New Times Shipbuilding facilities in China's Jiangsu province.

Technical Details and Participation

The ceremony focused on the vessel identified by hull number 0315847. Attendees included representatives from the shipyard, classification societies, and the ship-owning company, which is a member of the Angelicoussis Group led by Maria Angelicoussis. New Times Shipbuilding, based in Jingjiang, is a subsidiary of the Sinopacific Shipbuilding Group.

Fleet Renewal Strategy

This launch is part of a broader fleet modernization initiative by Maran Tankers. The company recently announced the delivery of the Maran Menelaus, the third in a series of eight dual-fuel Suezmax tankers. Notably, the Maran Menelaus has been registered under the Greek flag, reinforcing the group's long-standing ties to Greek maritime traditions.
