From Legal Friction to Executive Leadership
The appointment is particularly noteworthy given the recent history between the two entities. Only a year ago, Disney was issuing cease and desist letters to Character.AI, alleging that the startup's tools infringed upon Disney's copyrighted intellectual property. During his year-long tenure as CEO of Character.AI, Anand notably oversaw the company's expansion into "microdramas," a blend of technology and storytelling that aligns with Disney's core business.
