Greek armed forces remained on alert this Sunday as Turkish activity in the central and southeastern Aegean saw a renewed uptick. According to an official announcement from the Hellenic National Defense General Staff (GEETHA), two Turkish unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) entered Greek airspace.
UAV Activity Recorded
During the course of the day, the two Turkish aircraft committed a total of:
- Two infringements of air traffic rules.
- Nine violations of national airspace.
The activity was concentrated in the central and southeastern regions of the Aegean Sea. As noted by GEETHA, the Turkish UAVs were identified and intercepted by Greek forces in accordance with international rules and established protocols for such incidents.
