Meta is moving quickly to enhance its new Muse AI agent, announcing updates that transform the bot into a more capable digital entity. Beyond simple text interactions, Muse is evolving into an AI avatar capable of video communication and autonomous task management.
From Chatbot to Video Avatar
A primary focus of the update is the introduction of live video calls. While Muse launched primarily as a chat interface, users will soon be able to engage in real-time conversations with a visual avatar. Meta is providing tools to customize both the look and sound of these avatars, powered by a new "Muse Realtime Avatar" model designed to govern natural movement.
Agents with Email and Computer Access
In a move toward greater autonomy, Muse agents are being assigned their own email addresses. These can be used for completing specific tasks or as a direct line of communication between the user and the agent. Furthermore, the Muse Mac app is set to receive updates enabling it to interact directly with the user's computer interface.
Meta also revealed plans to bring Muse to its smart glasses in the coming months. This integration will allow the AI to perceive the user's surroundings and engage in context-aware conversations. The expansion follows a successful launch period where Muse reportedly topped App Store charts, surpassing ChatGPT's mobile download numbers in its first 12 days.
