Grokipedia, the AI-powered online encyclopedia developed by SpaceXAI, appears to be updating its articles once again following a months-long hiatus. In August, Lawfare reported that the platform had not processed edits since April, but the site’s live updates dashboard is now displaying recent changes to various pages.
Inconsistent Updates and Source Warnings
While activity has resumed, it remains uneven across the platform. Many pages now feature a cautionary note advising users to “recheck all references and sources.” The frequency of these AI-driven fact-checks varies wildly; while Elon Musk’s own page was updated within the last hour and Barack Obama’s page was checked two days ago, other entries—such as the page for Honolulu—have not been scanned in seven months.
User Contributions and v0.2 Teasers
Recent tests show that the system is currently accepting some user-suggested updates, such as the inclusion of the October 6th release date for Gears of War: E-Day. However, requests for entirely new articles, including one for Meta’s Muse chatbot, remain listed as “In Review.” Although Elon Musk has been silent on the project since February, Benji Taylor, head of design at X and SpaceXAI, recently stated that the team hasn’t forgotten about the project, promising that “v0.2 will be better than ever,” despite a version with that designation having technically launched last November.
