The Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) stands as the first major milestone of September, according to the Minister of National Economy and Finance, Kyriakos Pierrakakis. In a recent interview, the Minister emphasized that the government's strategy transcends simple benefit policies, focusing instead on a plan that supports current income, addresses past burdens, and creates future opportunities.

Income Support and Tax Relief

During the TIF, a cohesive set of interventions targeting millions of citizens—including retirees, freelancers, employees, and farmers—is expected to be presented. The objective is to lighten the family budget and reduce tax burdens through permanent measures, strictly aligned with the actual capabilities of the economy.

Private Debt Regulations

A critical date for September is the 21st, when the protection of primary residences via the extrajudicial mechanism will be activated. This measure complements existing arrangements, such as the 72-installment plan and the increase of the non-seizable bank account limit, aiming to help thousands of citizens manage accumulated debts and regain control of their lives.

Greece on the International Investment Map

Mr. Pierrakakis also highlighted the creation of a modern framework designed to attract international investment fund managers. The government aims for organizations to establish a physical presence in Greece, bringing expertise and developing an ecosystem of legal, banking, and technological services. According to the Minister, significant developments in this direction are expected in the coming weeks, signaling Athens' entry into a market currently dominated by other international financial centers.
