The Israeli military announced today that it is conducting strikes in southern Lebanon in retaliation for the launch of two Hezbollah drones. The drones targeted Israeli soldiers stationed in a portion of the region designated by Israel as a security zone.
Evacuation Warnings and Targeted Operations
Prior to the strikes, Israeli forces issued an urgent warning to residents of the town of Arab Salim in southern Lebanon. The military instructed civilians to evacuate areas near a specific building, alleging it was being utilized by Hezbollah and was slated for destruction.
As of now, the Iranian-backed group has not issued a formal comment regarding the latest incidents. These developments follow Friday's operations, during which the Israeli army reported hitting weapons storage facilities intended for use by Hezbollah in southern Lebanon.
Rising Casualties in the Region
The conflict continues to exact a severe human toll. Reports indicate that since March 2, Israeli strikes have resulted in the deaths of at least 4,300 people in Lebanon, reflecting the escalating intensity of the military confrontations in the border region.
