Baseus has announced a new addition to its lineup of AI-assisted security cameras that takes a more proactive approach to discouraging unwanted visitors. The Baseus Security PrimeSentinel U2 Pro Outdoor 3K Dual Camera moves beyond simple recording and alerting by introducing a motorized spotlight designed to shine directly on and follow a moving target across a property.

Dual Camera System and Active Deterrence

The U2 Pro features a dual-lens setup consisting of a fixed 3K camera for constant monitoring of a specific area and a second 3K camera capable of zooming, tilting, and panning 360 degrees. The targeted light serves a dual purpose: it alerts intruders they have been detected and improves video quality in the dark, aiding in the identification of subjects through full-color night vision capabilities.

AI Analysis and Local Storage

Utilizing AI-powered analysis, the camera provides alerts that differentiate between people, pets, vehicles, and specific activities like package deliveries. The system is calibrated to ignore irrelevant movements, such as swaying tree branches, to prevent notification fatigue. Footage is stored locally on an encrypted 512GB memory card and can be accessed via the Baseus mobile app or monitored through Amazon Alexa and Google Home devices.

Power and Installation

The device is powered by a rechargeable battery rated for up to 150 days of use. It includes a 3W solar panel that can be mounted on or near the camera; Baseus claims that just 40 minutes of sunlight can generate enough power for a full day of operation. Installation is designed to be quick, with the company stating it takes approximately two minutes using wall or ceiling mounts.
