Vodafone Greece is currently executing a targeted €15 million investment program to overhaul its retail network. To date, 60 of the company's 245 stores nationwide have been modernized, with the latest opening at The Mall Athens showcasing the brand's new retail philosophy.

A New Approach to Tech Retail

The modernization strategy, already visible in locations like Golden Hall, focuses on expanding the product range and providing enhanced technical support services. Store infrastructure is being upgraded with fiber optics and 5G connectivity to facilitate a more seamless customer experience.

This retail initiative is a component of Vodafone's broader €1 billion investment roadmap for 2024–2029, which primarily aims at the nationwide expansion of fiber optic and 5G networks.

Financial Performance and Structural Hurdles

Despite these investments, the fiscal year results (April 2024 – March 31, 2025) indicate significant pressure. Total turnover reached €1.007 billion, down from €1.027 billion the previous year. Fixed-line telephony saw the sharpest decline at 10.1%, while mobile service revenue dipped by 1.4%.

Net losses widened considerably to €82.9 million, compared to €16.1 million in the prior period. Management attributes this shift primarily to:

  • A reversal in financial results, moving from a €15.4 million surplus to a €38 million deficit.
  • A substantial increase in tax burden, rising from €0.5 million to €14.4 million.

In contrast, "other revenue" saw a 25.2% boost, reaching €90.4 million. This growth was driven by equipment sales for public sector projects and increased data usage by international visitors. While net losses grew, operating cash flows remained positive at €213.1 million, despite intra-group debt standing at €569.3 million.
