At the 90th Thessaloniki International Fair, the Hellenic Police Cybercrime Division unveiled the new "Digital Cybercrime Academy 2026." This innovative interactive platform, developed in collaboration with the Democritus University of Thrace, integrates Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality, and Augmented Reality to educate citizens on internet safety.
Two AI Agents, Distinct Missions
The Academy operates through two specialized digital assistants, "Michael" and "Nemesis," whose knowledge base is built upon the real-world investigative experience of Cybercrime Division officers:
- “Michael”: Serves as the primary information agent. It is a closed AI system that answers queries using strictly vetted educational material from the Division, ensuring information reliability and preventing user inputs from altering its responses.
- “Nemesis”: Focuses on interactive learning. It monitors user choices during educational scenarios and creates a personalized learning experience, allowing citizens to witness the consequences of their digital decisions in a simulated environment.
Technology and Privacy
The platform features Augmented Reality (AR) capabilities, enabling "Michael" to appear in the user's physical space via mobile device cameras. A core pillar of the project is privacy; the platform does not collect, store, or maintain any personal user data, ensuring complete anonymity. The Academy is accessible both at the fair and online, offering content in Greek and English for users aged 12 and above.
