The Hellenic Chamber of Shipping (NEE), led by President George Alexandratos, has unveiled a significant initiative to highlight national maritime heritage. A new digital virtual tour application now allows the public to explore the historic submarine 'Proteus S-113,' which serves as the country's first submarine museum.
A Legacy of 260,000 Nautical Miles
The 'Proteus' arrived in Greece in 1973 and served as a cornerstone of the Hellenic Navy for nearly five decades. During its active service, it covered approximately 260,000 nautical miles before being decommissioned in 2022. Its transformation into a museum and subsequent digitization are part of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Hellenic Institute of Maritime History (EL.I.N.IS.) and the General Staff of the Navy.

The application provides a comprehensive experience, enabling users to:
