For the eighth consecutive night, United States forces launched heavy airstrikes against targets in Iran. The operation was conducted under the direct order of President Donald Trump, as confirmed by U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM).

U.S. Objectives and Strategy

According to CENTCOM's official statement, the strikes were designed to degrade Tehran's ability to threaten international commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Furthermore, the military action serves as a direct response to attacks attributed to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, which resulted in the deaths of two U.S. soldiers and left one missing in Jordan the previous night.

Iranian media reported that the strikes hit areas near the city of Sirik in the Hormozgan province, located in southern Iran. As of now, there have been no reports of human casualties or damage to residential areas and civilian infrastructure.

Tehran's Reaction

Iran's Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, responded with a written statement broadcast via state television (IRIB), directly challenging the credibility of the U.S. leadership. Khamenei asserted that the American president's signature is "worthless and void," citing repeated violations of agreements by Washington.

Echoing this aggressive stance, Ebrahim Azizi, chairman of the Iranian Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, warned U.S. forces of "unforgettable lessons," suggesting they should flee the region immediately. Khamenei also issued a call for national unity, attempting to solidify the domestic front as the country faces a new escalation in the conflict.
